Feeding calculators

• Results are based on the Resting Energy Requirement (RER) formula: RER = 70 × (body weight in kg)^0.75, multiplied by a life-stage factor. This formula is published by the National Research Council and used widely in veterinary practice.
• Actual caloric needs vary based on breed, metabolism, activity level, health conditions, medications, spay/neuter status, climate, and individual variation.
• Calculator results are starting points, not prescriptions. Monitor your pet's weight and body condition and adjust feeding amounts accordingly.
• Brand-specific calorie densities are sourced from manufacturer-published data and may change without notice.

Growth predictors

• Puppy and kitten growth predictions use breed-specific growth curve data. Mixed-breed animals may not follow standard growth curves.
• Predictions are statistical estimates based on population averages — your individual pet may grow larger or smaller than predicted.
• Growth can be affected by nutrition, genetics, health conditions, and environmental factors not captured by our calculators.

Toxicity calculators

• Chocolate toxicity and similar calculators provide general guidance based on published toxic dose ranges (e.g., theobromine and caffeine content by chocolate type).
